Empire Wind

In July 2019, we won the bid for Empire Wind. We look forward to partnering with New York to bring affordable, low-carbon energy to New York consumers and to establish New York as a leader in the offshore wind industry. Read more on the Empire Wind website:

Massachusetts offshore wind

In December 2018, we acquired the 129,000-acre Massachusetts offshore wind lease area in a federal lease auction. The lease area is well situated for developing offshore wind energy for the New England states and New York.

US Onshore

The US onshore operations are Equinor’s largest international production outside Norway with total equity production of ~309 MBOE/D in the second quarter of 2019.

Since 2008 we have been active in the development and production of onshore oil and gas in the US. Headquarter in Austin, Texas, our onshore portfolio is focused on the Bakken play in North Dakota and the Marcellus/Utica formations in the Appalachian Basins.  Equinor is also leveraging our US experience with our international partner-operated assets in Turkey and Argentina.

Offshore focus

We are a partner in nine producing fields in the Gulf of Mexico and two in development. We also own and operate the Titan production facility.

For these exciting developments, we are taking our proven experience from the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS) and elsewhere and applying it to our positions in this globally prolific basin. We bring a fresh perspective to operations in the Gulf of Mexico while remaining environmentally steadfast and conscientious in everything we do.

Safe and efficient operations are always our first priority, and to underpin this we participate in the Center for Offshore Safety, focusing on improving offshore safety and industry standards.

Production from the US Gulf of Mexico is approximately 130,000boe/day and will grow, making us one of the top five producers in the US Gulf of Mexico by 2020.
